Give to the Black Community Schoarship Endowment Fund
Since 1983, the Black Community Fund (BCF) has provided support to organizations which seek to enhance socio-economic aspects of the African-American community in the Greater Kansas City area. The Black Community Fund became an affiliate of the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation in 2007.
The Black Community Fund is now focused on systemic change that can only be attained through education. To address the shortfall in educational access and opportunity for Kansas City’s African-American students, BCF used its 30th Anniversary in 2013 to launch a sustainable, academic scholarship fund, the Black Community Scholarship Endowment Fund.
The Black Community Fund is a trusted vehicle through which Kansas Citians can pool resources to help as many African-American students as possible achieve their academic and career aspirations today and into the future. Below is an illustration of how much is needed to offer a set number of academic scholarships annually. As you can see, for BCF to continue to offer five, $5,000 scholarships annually, BCF must have at minimum $625,000 in a scholarship endowment fund.
