Michael Haseltine Scholarship Fund
In November of 2009, Developmental Disability Services of Jackson County - eitas unexpectedly lost one of our most valued staff members to leukemia. Michael Haseltine had been employed by eitas for 12 years and was serving as the Deputy Director when he passed. This scholarship fund is dedicated to the loving memory of Michael Haseltine; father, grandfather, and advocate for individuals with developmental disabilities. Michael's deep passion and commitment for supporting persons with developmental disabilities was contagious. His dedication and support to eitas and the people we serve will always be remembered.
Scholarships from this fund will be awarded annually to Jackson County, Missouri residents who are either a student with a developmental disability intending to further their education at a two-year or four-year college or university, or a vocational/technical school; or students intending to further their education at a two-year or four-year college or university, or a vocational/technical school whose major studies focus on working in the developmental disability field.

Developmental Disability Services of Jackson County - eitas is a Senate Bill 40 Board that uses tax levy dollars, grants, and service income to fund a variety of needs for citizens of Jackson County Missouri with a developmental disability. Eitas' mission is to support individuals with developmental disabilities and their families with services that respect their choices, increase their opportunities, encourage their independence, and assist their inclusion in all aspects of the community.
